Zan Dubin-Scott is president of ZDS Communications, a results-driven public relations and marketing agency specializing in sustainability and environmental issues. Clients include SolarCity, CarbonLITE Recycling,��5 Gyres and��Plug In America. Dubin-Scott co-founded National Drive Electric Week.Dubin-Scott launched ZDS Communications after a decade as a Los Angeles Times staff writer (and five years as a full-time correspondent for the paper). As a co-founding board member of Plug In America and the organization’s communications director, she sustains its position as the nation’s leading source of independent, expert information and opinion about the global plug-in electric vehicle industry. She co-conceived and founded National Drive Electric Week, an annual showcase promoting plug-in vehicles organized nationally by Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association. The event drew more than 90,000 attendees to events in some 150 cities for its fourth iteration in 2014. Media coverage has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and USA Today, in addition to hundreds of local news outlets from Maui to Mexico.
Dubin-Scott’s home is equipped with a 3.0 kW solar array that powers her home and plug-in car, a solar thermal system for hot water, three cats and one dog (who are not emission free).
